Bucket o'choc

It has tipped it down for most of the day today.

Can’t say that I was too bothered, as both I and the wee ones were pretty tired, so we had an easy start, particularly as we have an early-ish start (for a Sunday) tomorrow. We did need to head into town for a present, card and wrapping paper for one of The Youngest’s friends, whose party is causing the early start tomorrow.

We did a few boring chores and then on recommendation we popped into Kaukau for a hot chocolate, which was sublime. You can pick which strength chocolate you want, so I went 45% and thinking that a small cup wouldn’t be enough for me, I went regular…..and then this bucket arrived. It was delicious and the wee ones polished off their 40%s too.

We sat watching the world go by and making up stories about the people we saw. The Youngest had the best one for a lady clutching a large brown paper bag across the street.

“You see her, Dad?”
“Yeah…”
“She stole all the hamsters.”
(Through a spit take and giggling) “Did she?! From where?!”
“Pets at Home.”

The afternoon contained a similar amount of fun as a friend popped by with her offspring, whereupon we very quickly lost control of the situation (the wee ones took over) and sense of time as we realised that afternoon had become evening. We finished up with a family friendly game of Cards Against Humanity, which really did descend into anarchy as somehow all the poop-related answers came to the fore.

Much needed on an otherwise miserable day!
