This is a very late posting.

I had a good sleep last night but don’t feel particularly well.  It’s my sister-in-law’s birthday today so their two sons, a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter came for breakfast - beautiful pastries fresh from the bakery and coffee.  Their elder daughter also popped in.  Their younger daughter and her husband are in Europe so we won’t see them this time.  It’s still raining and we’ve taken it easy all day as we need to be as fresh as possible and ready for a busy week.

Everyone started gathering again just before 5pm, as the little girls need to get to bed early ready for school tomorrow.  There were ten adults, four little girls and one wee boy.  We had nibbles to start, then superb beef cooked on the barbecue, a delicious squash and leek gratin, two different salads and potatoes, followed by a fruit crumble with ice cream.  It was a lovely evening and so nice for us to spend time with my brother’s family.

The blip shows the family dog asleep in front of the fire, and the tables set for dinner.
