Crummock Water and Melbreak

Please view LARGE for the best effect

Started the day by driving over Newlands valley to Buttermere, and on to the south end of Crummock Water, in the hope of finding calm water and good reflections - and we did! Spend a couple of hours round the end of the lake shooting Holme island (pictured) and various other reflections.

We then re-located to Rannerdale, where the bluebells were, if anything even more plentiful and intense in colour than they were a couple of weeks ago. But the bracken has come on a lot in the time, and in a few days will completely cover up the bluebells; so if you're in the area, and want to see them, go as soon as possible.
