Quod oculus meus videt

A Day Out

We visited Trentham Gardens this afternoon, after both of us having appointments at the local GPs practice first thing.  I had more blood extracted, from what I was told it was because they want to check for any issues with one of my medications.

It was supposed to be one of the better days this week, but it still rained for about half an hour while we were walking around.  Luckily we'd timed a visit to the cafe and despite sitting outside, the overhanging roof managed to protect us from any rainfall.

You have to admire the dedication of the team that maintains and enhances the gardens each year.  It is on a very large scale, as can be seen from the extra image taken from across the lake of the Italian gardens.  There are extensive areas of planting in large drifts, which are quite amazing.
