Desperately seeking

The young woodpecker regulary pauses in the magnolia on its way to the peanuts. Probably waiting for the bluetits to leave.

We had to be at the lodge bright and early today as we were taking advantage of a few vacant days to have a smart meter fitted. I hadn't been looking forward to it but E-on carried it out smoothly and I loved the little gadget for showing how much per hour the items turned on were costing.

While that was going on we got on with the changeover cleaning.

In the evening we went to a village meeting to discuss action for getting a bus service to Penrith and Keswick. At the meeting I met up with 2 friends I hadn't seen for over 20 years and yet they were still living in the village. The Man and I had planned a drink in the pub afterwards so we invited them to join us. Just like old times, we three ladies often had a drink together in the pub. We couldn't leave without asking: "When shalll we three meet again?"
