Hiking to Sertig

After two days of rain the forecast was for warmer and brighter weather today so we planned to do another high level walk. We drove around the mountain to Davos and got the gondola up to Jakobshorn, then started our descent to the little village of Sertig. The forecast was for about 19C so I decided to wear hiking shorts, and when we got to Davos this morning it was still only 11C, and at the top of the mountain as we got out of the gondola it was really cold, 7C and I was in shorts! So we had to start our hike by going into the mountain restaurant for a hot coffee before setting off.

This is the view from where we started our walk and in the valley in the distance you can see the little village of Sertig. It is about a 2.5 hour walk down, but is not too steep so my knees were fine on this hike. It is a favourite hike as it is so scenic and with the wild Alpine flowers everywhere it is so pretty. As we descended it got warmer and warmer so by the time we reached the valley below I was in a T shirt having stripped off my top layers.

An extra photo of Xena on our way down, and another of the valley with Sertig in the sunshine as the clouds lifted. You will notice the sprinkling of snow from yesterday that was there when we started our hike has melted.

We had lunch at Walserhuus in Sertig and it was not as good as we were expecting, but not bad either. We then got the bus back to Davos where we picked up the car and drove back to Klosters. It was a really enjoyable hike.

We did some grocery shopping later this afternoon, as the boys all arrive tomorrow night and I needed to get in some of the foods they like to eat - they all like different things for breakfast.

This afternoon I have been helping Gavin trying to upload and edit some of his drone files, and as I know nothing about it, it is a case of the blind leading the blind. Tonight we will watch the last episode of The Sixth Commandment which we have really enjoyed.
