SURPRISE.....MORE AUTO RACING.

It's NASCAR weekend at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI U.S.A. but the Xfinity series won't be showing up until Friday for practice and a few shakedown laps.  The big race will be Saturday.

However, there are companion series that accompany the Xfinity drivers and they were all over the track today.  One series, the Porsche Carrera Cup (PCC) was first on track.  They were followed by a large contingent of diverse race cars in a series known as Gridlife.....everything from Porsches and Corvettes to Mazdas and BMWs.  It's a series that attempts to equate all these "street" cars by Dyno tuning them to be essentially equal in the horsepower department and adding weight, etc. to the lighter models and other "adjustments" to allow for some real racing at an affordable price for entry level drivers.  It's rather interesting.

This little beauty was negotiating Turn 7 on it's way to T-8.  More of this tomorrow morning along with the PCC with the NASCARs making their debut later in the day.  Should be interesting with the predicted nasty weather early and late, just when the Xfinity series is to go on track.  Unlike the big time CUP SERIES drivers, these step lower Xfinity drivers aren't afraid to drive in the rain.  GO XFINITY!
