Underway

After a month of friendlies the 23/24 football season is now properly underway, at least in non league Steps 5 and 6. 

The latest train strike limited my choice of games a little, so I stuck to walking distance and headed a mile across the valley to Thackley for their NCEL Premier League fixture against Tadcaster Albion. Tadcaster suffered relegation from the Northern Premier League last season and were therefore back in the NCEL for the first time since they were champions in 15/16. Tadcaster fans seemed confident for the year ahead, but it was Thackley who made the most of their chances and secured a 2-0 win.
