Sgwarnog: In the Field

Packhorse

I know some of you know this spot very well, but for me it was only my second visit. Beckfoot Bridge is a packhorse bridge, built across Harden Beck in 1723.

15yo and I were on a small excursion to Bingley and 5-Rise locks but found our attempts to walk the path on the south bank of the Aire blocked by a herd of cows packed tightly around a stile. We ended up backtracking and explored the north bank instead.

Considering it’s only three miles away I really don’t explore around Bingley very much - probably because there are no direct buses and even the train journey requires a connection. I should make more of an effort though.
