Nettie

Back on the Leads Bear Hunt, although admittedly just sticking with those I pass between the station and work for the moment.

This is Nettie Honeybear, by artist Christine Jopling. Nettie is a tribute to one of the pioneers of women in football, Nettie Honeyball (a pseudonym) who established the British Ladies Football Club in 1894. Nettie can be found outside Leeds City Museum. 

A fitting tribute to coincide with the Women’s World Cup.
