Sgwarnog: In the Field

Platform

Another umbellifer top view, this time with a 7-spot Ladybird making the most of the floral platform.

This is the meadow behind the Tong Park cricket pitch - at this time of year it is verging on impenetrable, but my regular visits just about manage to keep a track open through the bracken that acts as a barrier from the surrounding paths.

There was only very weak sunshine, but still warm enough for butterflies with Peacock, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Speckled Wood, Small Skipper, Red Admiral, Small White, Green-veined White, Small Copper, Comma all showing themselves.

Later, I headed back to Silsden for another NCEL Premier Division fixture with Knaresborough the visitors. Silsden looked to have put the disappointment on Friday evening’s opening day loss behind them and had a 2-1 lead by half-time though. Knaresborough came back strongly though with two second half goals to win the game 2-3.
