Sitting and Watching today...

In the dark I drove to Ipswich where I sat in my chair all rugged up because it was 6 degrees and I watched Sunrise... We were in Ipswich for Park2Park which is a fun run event and the money raised goes to their local hospital... Ruben won his age division last year in the 10km, so we were back there for him to run again...
But first off let me share what state he was in physically and mentally...
He'd had 4 hours sleep as he'd got given a ticket to the FIFA World Cup Womens game France V Brazil so he didn't get home till 11:15pm and didn't get to bed till midnight then the alarm went off at 4:00am and out the door at 4:45am... He said his body still felt tight from sitting in the Stadium for the game... So told him to keep moving about and he just had to do his best... He actually looked like he hadn't had any sleep at all... Well he ran the 10km event, 12th over the finish line, over a minute quicker than last year and was the 1st finisher in his age group... We were cheering... Awaiting official time, Garmin says 42:01...
Then after a cool down jog 1 drove home for brunch and he had 1 hour to get ready and he and I were back out the door as he had 2 games of football to referee (Centre) U14 and U15 in the afternoon...
We got back home just before 5:00pm and he's one shattered boy, he said it was getting hard to run in the 2nd half of the last game but he did well...

Early nights here, 6:00am alarm for school tomorrow and then tomorrow night he'd bought a ticket to the FIFA World Cup - Ireland V Nigeria so it's going to be another very late night... Then Thursday night he has the other game ticket he bought... He really does love the football (soccer) and FIFA might not come back to Australia any time soon so he's making the most of the opportunity now...
