What A Failure

The Berberis was looking good with the rain shining like silver beads this morning.
My pictures were abject failures in trying to show it.

We had to pick up Cosmo (the 'kitten' who is huge and may continue growing until he is 4) first thing and take him to the vet to have his knackers removed.
Apparently he should sleep for the best part of the next 24 hours.....we have just been sent a video of him running about and acting the idiot as usual. Maybe the vet didn't actually do the operation. LOL

I made a wee box from a piece of leftover oak banister. It is a composite piece of wood rather than a solid piece.
My God is it hard and really blunts the tools in no time at all. It may be small but I was having to use a heavy duty gouge to beat it into submission.
The fact that it is made up from different bits of wood it gives an interesting finish which all the grain patterns running in different directions
Shots are in the extras box.
The lid was easier as it is a piece of spalted Beech. It also need sharp tools to ensure that you don't get 'tear out' leaving it rough .... but it doesn't blunten the tools in the same way.
