On the beach

It remained dry if cold with a keen northeasterly breeze provided the chill.

We walked south from Seahouses to Beadnall, nearly getting there before we had to turn back to get to the campsite for lunch.

Despite the weather we went to Bamburgh beach to engage in that time honoured activity of building a castle to defend from the encroaching tide. We failed of course. This was the first time I’d been involved with beach engineering for many years. Great fun. The inevitable outcome is in extras.

The last family arrived this afternoon from Glasgow. A huge family meal ensured despite the cool of the evening. Plenty of washing up after that lot. 9 adults and 7 children. The children are having a whale of a time just running around playing on the equipment and with other children.

Home tomorrow, back to Kent.
