Swingball

A couple of hours with the family before setting off back to Kent. A journey which should have taken 6 hours 20 minutes took 7 hours 45. The worst was between Newcastle and Leeds where the traffic was horrible.

It remained cold and wet In Northumberland this morning. It cleared up later as we had photos of the children playing on the beach in the sunshine in the afternoon.

Back in kent at 10.00pm it was still several degrees higher than that in Northumberland.

Camping nowadays is not what it was when I was in the scouts and camping in my twenties! The two tents in this shot belong to two of the families. It seems a lot of work to pack, set up, repack and out by in the car at the end of the holiday.

It’s really good for the children though, they were off playing from morning to night, not needing parents to entertain them or take them places. I still like the idea of having a touring caravan though.
