King's Cross

Despite the cold and the sore throat and the cough it was off to London today. I went in past the Manor first to say 'Bon Voyage' to the folks who are off to France on Tuesday.

The sun was shining through the new glass canopy at Waverley as we boarded the train and headed south. First day of summer and we spent it in a crowded coach B of the Eastcoast express.

We got to London at 8 and booked into the hotel. My room was bijou, but perfectly formed. But we had a lovely Italian meal at Casa Mamma before a foray to St Pancras but the shops and the Champagne Bar were all closed. Soi nothing for it but to go to bed.
