Rose Tree

Yes, you read that right! After some light digging (metaphorically speaking), apparently Rhododendron originates from the Ancient Greek words of rhódon 'rose' & déndron 'tree'. Now we know. It does seem to make sense though doesn't it!?

Jenny & I had a splendid evening at home with the family. Mum had rustled up a little pick 'n' mix pasta-barbeque ensemble, Ria, fresh (or weary) from her GCSE English exam gave us all the goss from their time at the Caravan in Whitstable last week (it really is all kicking off, but I can't say anymore for legal reasons), Jamie ate (shocker!!), & Ozzie looked particularly adorable. Mick was at work, but before he left he did generously put aside for us, & our little garden, a pot of fresh runner bean seedlings & some bamboo polls! How exciting. And it we hadn't forgotten them before we left, we'd be planting them this week!! (Nevermind, I'll pick them up at the weekend).

The garden was looking very green & bursting with life. The Moorhens & their not so small chicklings were busy, stealing bread from the bird table (much to Jenny's shock when one jumped up, scoffed & then scarpered), the rabbits & baby bunny's were munching away on the grass (NOT the potatoes or beans thankyou!), & as you can see, the rhododendrons were out in full force. They really are a beautiful plant & are super tall & colourful this year.

(Blip over & out)
