Portobello Beach Edinburgh Day 280

A fog horn moaned deeply in the Firth of Forth. The Haar was in. . The beach, after yesterday's excesses virtually deserted as a consequence. I like the beach whatever the weather and this morning's freeze frame effect adds another dimension to this wonderful ever changing seascape.

My blip shows the work in progress on rebuilding the collapsed bottle kiln at the former Portobello Buchan Pottery. The excavation of the foundations for the new homes being built here have unearthed the old Portobello harbour wall. Two archeologists were working on this marine site today recording the structure before it is buried once more to be part of the foundations of 73 21st century homes.
