Portobello Beach Edinburgh Day 281

A lost sole. A lost well barnacled sole. Not sure such sole trading would set the contemporary foot fashion world alight - but you never know.

I was running on the surf this morning thinking of those brave souls who put their D-Day boots on the Normandy beaches 69 years ago this morning. I was further reminded of this conflict while walking on the dunes at Aberlady Bay yesterday among the concrete coastal defences above the wrecks of two midget WWII submarines. Beyond Gullane Point the scaffolding city that will seat and entertain the golfing fraternity at next month's Open seemed almost ready.

I am slowly catching up with my comments. Apologies for the delay due to Slovakian travels.
