a lifetime burning

Pecker

A beautiful early start this morning, with a fair bit of early mist over the Somerset Levels, that had nearly all burned away by 8am.  The great spotted woodpecker is possibly one of this year's brood as it has quite an extensive red cap - the mature males only have a small patch of red on the back of the heads and females no red cap at all.
