Yay, solar panel!

After yesterday's hiccup with the scaffolders failing to appear (spreadsheet error apparently), everyone arrived at once today.  Teas and coffees were brewed, Tunnocks and choccy digestives munched and the scaffolding was erected as the fitters made a start on the electrics.  The inverter and batteries were installed inside the old coal cupboard which Tony had done an excellent job of clearing/cleaning out, and the fitters were ready to move up to the roof just as the scaffolding was completed.

I was a bit anxious about the roof on the original part of the house, it being stone flags, and one of the fitters had to go in the loft and drill the holes for the tracking from the inside as it wasn't obvious where the roof trusses were.  Thankfully all went well until the lower tracking was being fit and they hit concrete of all things, so different fixings were needed and the day ran out.

The team have worked solidly all day and done a smashing job.  Tomorrow they will fix the panels to the tracking and then link them up to the inverter, and we're done!

Apparently, the batteries come with 50% charge so I cooked lunch from them, a saving already.

My blip is of A taking a panel up the three storeys!
