A Day Worth Recording

Malvern is, and always has been, the location of the exuberantly British Morgan Motor Car Company. 'The boys' were booked on a factory tour this morning while 'the girls' went for a walk up the hills.

No, Morgans are not 'made out of plywood'.  The chassis is a bonded aluminium structure (very 'aerospace' our guide was at pains to point out), however the coachwork around the cockpit is indeed wood - ash wood in particular, for it's durability and flexibility.  The whole thing is delightfully, if not ridiculously,  hand-crafted.

There are options.  I forget the number of possible option combinations but it reminded me of the mobile phone software I used to work on where there were more possible build combinations than atoms in the universe.  The number for Morgans wasn't quite that big, but big enough to be confident that every single Morgan car is unique

They look great.

A small matter of a starting price of 70 grand puts a bit of a dampener on things.
