Sgwarnog: In the Field

Scopes

We have arrived in Wales for the weekend. The trains were all on time, but it was standing room only for most of the last leg from Newton-le-Willows to Rhyl.

Sister #1 kindly collected us from the station and once we'd offloaded stuff at Mum's we popped up to Llyn Brenig to have a look at the Ospreys. One adult and one of this year's two new arrivals were perched next to the security camera adjacent to the nest, so we saw excellent live images plus long distance views through the scopes. The other fledgling hadn't been seen the morning with the theory being it was holed up in a tree somewhere away from the wind. They are all expected to depart for Gambia in a couple of weeks.

Today's image has 18yo, 15yo and Sister #2 at the scopes along with a North Wales Wildlife Trust volunteer. And the Ospreys themselves are off in the distance on the other side of the lake.
