Sgwarnog: In the Field

Something new has appeared along the sea front in Rhyl since my last visit a couple of months ago although it seems to be a controversial addition.

Should it ever get operational the attraction will involve the blimp lifting to 400ft. Fee paying passengers will ride in a viewing gondola suspended beneath and will be able to enjoy views along the North Wales coast, or back across the Wirral to Liverpool. Having grown up a few miles along the coast I can vouch for the fact that the Isle of Man and Blackpool Tower can be seen on clear days from the hillsides, so I expect they've been added to the viewing menu.

There seem to have been considerable delays in getting it up and running - I'm not sure if it's done anything other than test flights yet and according to their website they are not currently accepting bookings.

We went to see Mum in her residential home along with Brother #1 and then had a visit with Great Nephew #2 who has recently had a second birthday. Then over to Sister #1 and brother-inlaw @ROBERT10 for dinner. A good day for 15yo and 18yo to catch up with some of my side of the family.
