Monarch butterfly....

....surprised to be greeted with this beauty this morning, basking in sunlight on our native broadleaf tree, it sent me dashing for the camera.

Monarch butterflies fluttering round the garden, bird song a plenty, blue sky above and lots of sun, it was a warm 18C! But cloud descended mid-afternoon, sun disappeared and the air cooled, bumble bees still buzzed round the garden, the best of the day was gone. Another front with snow down to low levels and heavy rain on it's way, arriving perhaps Wednesday, spring creeping in with unsettled weather.
