Latest Discovery (s?)

The Box "Boxes" are due for their annual scalping - AND - yet nearer to morphing from Boxes to Hedge status.
     The Discovery/Discoveries:-
Some time ago I noticed the "Bald"/scorched sections and wondered about a Box disease I hear/read about of late.  I'll nip off and check.  Returning once clued up, don't hurry away.
Back so soon? -  - YUP, found out this:-
"Box blight

Box blight is a disease of box leaves and stems caused by two closely related fungi, Calonectria pseudonaviculata and Calonectria henricotiae (syn. Cylindrocladium buxicola). The two species of Calonectria differ in their sensitivity to some fungicides (triazoles). They largely affect Buxus spp."
Only time will tell.  I do NOT fancy Ligustrum (Privet) necessitating a severe haircut, probably at least twice per year.

The other discovery? Possible Flowers.  Alice could smell Box at a few yards distance; whereas I have to ram the old Fizzog right into the Bush to detect the faintest of aromas.

Also found this - worth a try?
"It is important to cut out infection when the disease strikes, even if it is not the normal time of year to trim box. However, if the plants are wet such as after rain, wait until conditions are dry before beginning cutting back, otherwise you risk spreading the disease further."
