West Windermere Way

The few Tuesday crowd not on holiday, today decided to explore the first mile or two of the newly opened West Windermere Way .  So far they've built an accessible to all path from The Swan Inn at Newby Bridge , all the way to the Lakeside YMCA  via the the Lakeside steamer jetty and Finsthwaite, with plans to extend it further.  Here we have the newly constructed  bridge over the Haverthwaite to Lakeside steam railway with my 3 chums peeking over the top. We returned to Newby Bridge via Finsthwaite and Summer House Knott woods. A pleasant 6km bimble then lunch in Backbarrow

We were interested to learn that some of the bodies that have provided funds for the path are:- 
 - European Union European Structural and Investment Funds and 
 - HM Government Northern Powerhouse
