Variations on a Theme

Cyclamen cilicium, another hardy autumn flowering cyclamen.  Less commonly grown than Cyclamen hederifolium, this one has more delicate looking flowers and is a little more fussy about where it will grow happily outside.  I had a nice colony established under a young Scots Pine before the children were born but the tree grew even faster than the children and my time for keeping order in the garden shrank faster still!   Once I have more shelter from the wind sorted out front, I will try a few in the new raised bed.  A half sunny site in well drained soil suits it in the UK.

A day off.   A slow start after another very late night.  I did manage to get a load of seedling bulbs potted up and a decent walk into Meg before lunch.  In the afternoon Jamie had a couple of appointments he needed taking to and somehow all the time in between got filled with phone calls.   Singing tonight but our musical coach was unwell and could not attend.   We did a fair job of coaching ourselves but missed the guitar and the expertise nonetheless.   It was still fun which is what matters most :-)
