Birthdays and fireworks.

It was my friend Shawna's birthday tonight. We all went out to dinner to celebrate and after we had all eaten, our friend Mark shows up with a giant box. Now no birthday should ever be complete without fireworks so Mark's giant box was more than welcome.

The Chinese love their fireworks so this was nothing new. They seem to like setting them off no matter the day, time, weather, etc. The week of Chinese New Year is always a constant buzz and blasts of fireworks going off in every direction.

It was entertaining to watch Shawna try to light the fireworks off when the wind seemed determined to battle her every step. But she did get it lit and scampered away from it quickly.

The sky was soon lit up with the many colors of fireworks.

A good birthday celebration for a good person.
