End of a day

3years 228days

We had a Mummy and Katie day today. I've worked very hard on clearing the ballet school photos and knew it would be that way so deliberately calendared a day off together for today.

We had been invited to spend the day with friends who have a caravan at a Haven park near my dad's. We met them mid morning, complete with Katie's Anxious the Elephant. The children played in the caravan for a little while - including Katie doting on their 14 week old baby - before we went out for a Starbucks (finally, a Starbucks near Scarborough!!) Katie introduced her friend to babyccinos. He was rather less impressed than her. He introduced her to Millie's Cookie lollies. She was rather less impressed than him! We headed back to the caravan for lunch and the children enjoyed time playing on their balcony. The mummies enjoyed time playing with my friend's wrap stash as she's selling some of them so I got to wrap her little squish several times, hurrah!!

We then went to what was one of Katie's highlights of the day - a picnic with Roary the Tiger! We played games inside before going out in the sunshine to picnic on the parachute. All the children got a Haven characters themed food box and at the end they got a helium balloon - Katie was so delighted to get Anxious!

My friend had to get home mid afternoon, so Katie and I enjoyed some time picking flowers and she had a sleep in the meitai as we waited for a bus. We didnt want to head home just yet, so we went to find Victoria for a walk on the beach and a pre-tea treat ice cream on the prom. Katie had a wonderful time throwing rocks into the sea. I say rocks. They were significantly bigger than just a bit of pebble skimming. She had a paddle - in her shoes and tights. And then did have a paddle just in her dress. It was glorious. So chilled and fabulous. We found somewhere for an ice cream, Katie picked chocolate. Ate half of it. She then declared she doesnt like chocolate ice cream, she likes white swirly ice cream (AKA Mr Whippy).

We got us a train home from there, before we walked to Tesco's for a couple of bits. Katie asked to go for something to eat in the cafe. The lady made her a brilliant babyccino, complete with whipped cream and sprinkles. A few bits from the shop and we cycled home, windswept, a bit grubby but very very happy.

Katie's 3 things
I really liked my ice cream
The party picnic with Roary was brilliant. Forever. Roary would have liked a birthday cake, wouldnt he? Do tigers like grass?
We went on a train! (we do this twice a week, I like that its still exciting!)
