Raking hay

Raking the last batch of hay for baling tomorrow. This little field is actually first cut (!), as it was so poor before that I didn't bother mowing it then. The other, larger field is much better, and obviously second cut.

Unfortunately, just a couple of minutes after this the rake broke. The same fault that it had four years ago, a broken rake arm shaft, but on the other side. The repair is either quite expensive and very laborious (new shafts and seals and a difficult dismantling and reassembly) or very very expensive (a complete new gearcase). The third option, that I chose back then, a cheaper, but not directly fitting gearcase, is not available for this side. Or, if there is a fitting gearcase available somewhere for a reasonable price, I don't know about it, and Google doesn't seem to know either.

We had to get the contractor's rake to finish the job. Did that a few times, while the other side was "under construction".
