Knaresborough Bed Race...

... practice night.

Only 2 days to go before the annual Knaresborough Bed Race. Athletic teams compete in the race pulling a bed (in the form of an oversized pram) through the town with a luckless member of the team as a passenger in the bed.

The 'highlight' seems to be the section of the course which involves dragging the not very buoyant 'bed' across the River Nidd.

This evening saw teams practising this particular part of the race, getting very wet in the process. They entered the water roughly at the point from where I took this earlier blip.
