Cones

There is a Blue Atlas Cedar in the corner of the garden at the back of the house planted in the '50's.  It has grown enormously, in fact in one of the many gales sweeping the hilly countryside surrounding us, a large branch broke off and fell into the field.  The tree is now covered with green cones.  Later they will release seeds while still attached to the tree in the form of very fine dust - a real dust storm.

Eventually got the lawn mower working and mowed some of the lawn.  The grass has grown so long while I have been away that the mulcher is not really working very well so I have had to rake the grass up afterwards .....

A contractor's combine harvester broke down on a neighbouring farm so T was called to the rescue and went over with ours to finish the job.  He said it was very steep and wouldn't like to harvest that field again!
