Feast or Famine?

Well, today was feast..a feast of possible images for blipping! Some days it is a real struggle here to find something to post, but not today!

It was a beautiful morning - a bit of colour in the sky, the water like glass, refections everywhere...and then I sighted a large raft of Mergansers ..(had to look up what a group of ducks is called!) down by the sandbar...and once again wished I had a telephoto lens! It seemed to be feeding time for the masses..or bathing time; Whatever... their antics were hilarious...lots of diving and splashing, lots of butts in the air, some rising up to stretch and give themselves a shake...  and it was SO neat to see them back. I had not seen them in ages...Good to know they are still around. (extra removed)

And then it was a trip to town with my brother..to the hurly-burly of a tourist town on a hot, sunny summer day!  My first stop was the used book store to drop off some more books (for credit to be applied to future purchases)...and to search for a couple of new ones to take back to the cottage. It is a warehouse of books - a maze of individual rooms dedicated to a genre and with piles and piles of books stacked up at the front office waiting to be added to the inventory. One could lose oneself in there..but the challenge of finding a particular book is daunting..Books are shelved by genre first and then by author..but there are huge stacks of books piled in each section as there is no room on the shelves for them!  I did manage to find one I was looking for as it happened to be a new book and was temporarily being stored behind the cash desk!

Then we were off to visit my brother's friend Linda who lives in a condo outside town overlooking Georgian Bay - with a view to die for! (extra) We ended up spending a good part of the afternoon on her balcony enjoying that view before getting on with our list of chores - you know, all those mundane things like getting groceries etc..

It was a long day but a good one, a change from the usual laid back ones I do so enjoy....but change can be good...
