WATCHING AN ELK HERD AFTER A COLD RAIN

10:30 tee time.
Cold. Windy. Nothing we can't handle.
Icy rain, however, not so much.
Made it to hole #7,
Before power walking back to the clubhouse.

As I headed home, I discovered 5 elk,
Nibbling the grasses near the road.
This beauty is still losing her winter coat.
Soon, though, it will turn to a rich copper brown for the summer.
Then all 500 lbs of her will truly dazzle.
