Wanderings & Witterings

Steel

Three heads representing the former traditional industries in Coatbridge - iron, coal and steel - in Bank Street basin, a formerly run-down area but now a sculpture park.

I had taken the train over to Coatbridge with the intention of visiting Summerlee Industrial Heritage Museum, but discovered that it closes at 4pm now that the school holidays are over. So it was a quick dash around the outside parts of the museum and then a walk along Bank Street and King Street to the (re-)start of the Monkland Canal before retracing my steps to catch the train home.
