Whitby

Trying to cram in days out at the end of the holidays, Anna and I went to Whitby, to find out very few people had had the same idea. It was so quiet, it was eerie! Never seen it so empty. No queue for the car park, no wall to wall day trippers on the stretch of road down to the beach/pier. It was a really low tide too, just to add to the weirdness, which Anna made the most of (as in the photo) when she went digging for who knows what in the sand. Even at 15, looking for ‘stuff’ to fill her pockets is one of her favourite things to do.

Just the weekend to go before it’s back to school for us both.
