The 1st fairway

Blackheath golf course is indisputably the best in the Mountains, in fact it’s a “Destination golf course” in that golfers travel from all over NSW to play here but like many golf clubs, particularly postCovid, it is battling financially.
I’m an irregular golfer but a social member of the club and a long standing local so was invited to a small meeting this morning to discuss the future direction of the club.
The blip is from the marvellous new balcony overlooking the 18th green and 1st tee which was constructed with a generous NSW Govt grant and which has a grand opening in 2 weeks.
Unfortunately, it provides a perfect platform for friends to watch as I tee off at the first and, of course, give an audible and suitably “helpful” commentary!!
