La Rosa Vermuteria

This is the one @martindawe!  A packed tapas bar/restaurant where you can book tables online but can also queue for bar and high tables. They make their own vermouth, 5 Pétales and everything else is very Mallorquin and delicious.  Special note to the fabulous cheesecake that must not be missed.

The rest of the day was up and down.  We had a few commissions of stuff we forgot to bring so set out quite late.   It rained a lot and we got a bit lost and managed to wander into a less interesting part of town.

The hotel breakfast was delicious though and our first notable stop was at an artisanal and eye-wateringly expensive clothes shop from a local designer where you start off wanting to buy everything and end up timidly paying for a t shirt.

We arrived in the central market d’Olivar too late to eat at the counters but that is definitely something to be recommended.  A few were still open with merry lunchers draining their glasses or tipping brandy into their coffee cups.  They were sat at long counters with large trays of crushed ice with only a couple of oysters left on display.

We ate lunch somewhere recommended which was disappointing with unengaged staff and then discovered La Rosa (also recommended) and earmarked it for supper.

Rested up at the hotel for a couple of hours before changing up and heading out.

The staff at La Rosa were enthusiastic and friendly too, skilled in upselling but did it with charm and passion and without that I’d have never tried that cheesecake…
