Deer update

We had let the corn run out for a few days but as soon as Jerry filled the feeder, the deer knew it.

We noticed most of the bucks have shed the velvet off their antlers.   One buck has lost the antler on one side.    The deer with the curved feet is doing well and actually has more points on his antlers than the bigger buck.  I think 8 points is sort of uncommon in a young deer.   

Twins and their momma are coming by but we haven't seen the other doe and the single fawn (which has less spots than these twins).  

Habitat and food is critical here where we are as there are so many houses now.  We are always so happy to see the deer surviving.

We had a false autumn for a few days but now it is back to summer for the next two weeks...perfectly normal South Carolina weather.
