Spot the Cricket

Paperwork, chores, and gardening were on the schedule for today. While I was pruning the vines that were starting to block the view from our sitting room window, this great green bush cricket jumped out, and onto a squash leaf. 

If it hadn’t moved, I’d never have spotted it, even though it was about four centimetres long. The camouflage is quite amazing.

Later this afternoon, I got my quiet two hours on the patio, just reading, crocheting, and watching Chaiyya trying to catch flies.
