Grandad

This is a picture of my grandfather. He was a young boy born in 1912.

His father served in World War I, and apparently took this photograph with him. The black mark above my grandfather’s head is where his father would touch the photograph. It’s the first time I’ve seen it , this weekend, and I thought it would make a helpful blip in terms of recording for nostalgia.

His mother, Phoebe is my great grandmother, and was apparently a renowned dressmaker and an excellent piano player. Unfortunately, I have not inherited either of these skills!
