Large red damselfly

The damselflies are back in the garden - always great to see them sitting waiting for passing insects and skimming the pond.

This one seemed fearless and let me get quite close. It was only when I got very close up that I realised that it might have deformed wings. I'm not sure if it had hatched out from our pond and then had trouble inflating the wings. Didn't see it take off while I was in the garden. It seemed happy sitting on the Alchemilla mollis.

Another week done and looking forward to the weekend.
