Meadow buttercup

Chris and I spent the day doing our annual botanical survey at Portholme Meadow near Huntingdon, part of the Open University's Floodplain Meadow initiative. This year the meadow buttercups were in full flower, painting parts of the meadow a vibrant yellow, scarcely toned down by the grasses which grow among them - three of which can be seen here - meadow foxtail, meadow brome and red fescue.
