Now, as I see it......

Bath time

Well, what an amazing day we have had.  For my 'big birthday' in July, W had arranged for us to have a day trip on the Belmond British Pullman from London to Bath and back, and today was the day.  It couldn't have been a better day.  The coaches were amazing, the food and wine lovely and the service superb.  We were in the 'Ibis' coach and had a table for three between the two of us, which effectively meant that we had the complete width of the coach to ourselves as the opposite side was a table for one which was unused.  My picture shows our table on the right whilst I've added an extra of W and I as we boarded the train.

The journey took roughly three and a half hours in each direction and we had a couple of hours to kill in Bath.  We've done all the 'sights' before and as the day was one of the hottest of the year we decided to simply visit Bath Abbey where we could spend some time relaxing in the cool of the building.

Our coach is around 100 years old and has recently been fully refurbished so was in beautiful condition but being so old, there was no air conditioning.  Plenty of windows open to keep us cool but by the time we got back to London we both had hot and swollen feet.  We got back to the hotel, ran about four inches of cold water in the bath and stood having a paddle!
