Pleach

Once the haar (sea fog) had dispersed it turned into another warm sunny day with the sound of tractors working nearby. Farmers were busy in local fields with a recently sown crop being sprayed and a large field of barley was being combined with two tractors with trailers ready to collect the grain.  Rectangular bales of wheat straw were being collected in another field and two balers were collecting hay which had been drying out and releasing the round bales with a clunking sound.  I walked beside a newly planted field and through another with stubble and traces of wheat still growing on the verges. The farmers will be pleased that they have managed to collect the harvest this year with few weather problems.
