Is it really June....

I can't believe that i had to start a stove this evening!!! It's almost the middle of June! It's not that cold, but it's been pissing down all bloody day and so it feels so damp and chilly! I think Sherlock is really appreciating being able to sit in front of the fire - he's pretty wet!!!

It's been a nice laid back day. Started off with a trip into town, the library....a new book to start! Painted Girl by Cathy Marie Buchanan.....set in France in the 1800's - and coincidentally has many references (apparently!) to Edgar Dagas....the most famous pastel painter! I'm looking forward to getting into this book!
Feels like ages since i've been totally captivated by a book!

Then i spent some time watching the guru man demonstrate underpainting - again!!! i always find something i've missed the other 2-3 times i've watched him! All this in preparation for the beginning of a painting tomorrow - i hope! i do have to finish off some pots so they will dry in time for orders end of next week.....but one never knows around here!!!

I have the rare occasion to find myself alone at home this evening....makes for a nice change! The boys (Terry and Richard) have gone to some friends place for a party and i wasn't in a very social mood so i declined! So, some garlic shrimp, pesto pasta and a glass or two of Pinot Gregio!
