Bayeux

Beautiful Bayeux today.
The tapestry ( embroidery) exceeded all my expectations such a comprehensive, humoured and moving social commentary … then down to “ Liberty Alley”; memorial to fallen journalists from 1945 to current; by the names you can guess the conflict… and then the Bayeux British Military Cemetery, where the inscription reads ; “Nos a Gulielmo victi victoris patriam liberavimus” (“We, once conquered by William, have now set free the conqueror's native land”) The graves of over 4000, included British and non American soldiers. The graves themselves were much more personalised with individual planting .

We then visited the cathedral and finally the museum of art and history before feet fatigue came on :)
