Lots of repairs needed - Teddington Lock footbridg

this morning I went for a bike ride round Richmond Park and back across the bridge at Teddington Lock. The bridge is in a bad state and at last the council are going to carry out much needed major repairs to both the uprights and the surface of the bridge. Hopefully it will also be painted and returned to its former glory. Repairs a have started and the bridge is going to be closed overnight for a couple of months. According to our local news website it is used by 5000 pedestrians and 2000 cyclists every day going from Teddington across to Ham.

I don’t usually go to Richmond Park at the weekend ..…because as today there were so many manic cyclists and in addition today the running part of a triathlon and another marathon/ half marathon along the river too as part of a ‘Runfest’.

We had the family for lunch and everyone liked being in an air conditioned room for a while! Still very hot again for this time of year over 31C again.
