Weekend in Oban

Its been a weekend  away re-discovering  Scotland as a tourist.

M used to fly regularly at Connel gliding club near this bridge so it was a trip down memory lane for him. 

In Oban itself a town I once remembered as a busy Highland port where you stopped to get the ferry to the islands is now a thriving holiday destination with a distinct international flavour.

This church ( see extra) in the town centre has undergone a major change  of use as  multi puporse centre housing everything from  computers to a mental health drop-in centre for Argyll. 
But a holiday would not be a holiday without food, ( see extra) eaten at the seafood restaurant on the pier.
